last school day of 2010

Okay. So. Started off my day with creating a bulletin board at my elementary school. And it was PERFECT because the kids were at an assembly while I was doing it, the paper is super loud and would've been way distracting. It turned out well!

Then we had a guest speaker, who was a student's dad, that came to talk about fire fighting. He was HUGE! Cool guy. I learned some things about fire safety ;)

Then I read them a story. And passed out candy canes. This was my speech, 

"Repeat after me- I, solemnly swear that if I have a candy cane, I will not let it distract me and I will not use it as a weapon"

Then Rachel and I went to BK, my first time, met some nice people. Then we went on an adventure to find rachel's debit card. ha!

Derrick saved the day. If it weren't for him taking me to starbucks, and the fact that I'm not afraid to go in the men's (women's was out of TP), it could've been disastrous. Your first time hanging out with someone and you almsot pee your pants. Good bonding moment. 

Big work day tmrw. I get to swim with 20 four year olds. ... yaaaaaayy.....

Special Education

My day was enclired by Special Education. We had a guest speaker, Mrs. Price who is our Special Education teacher at RHS and then I went to spend a few hours with Mrs. Hazen, Emily's mom at Badger Mountain (where I went to school) to read with her resource kids. Ashton, who is mentally and physically delayed, touched my fingernails and said "ohh, I LIKE those!"

You gotta love kid compliments. 

While I was at Badger, I saw Tim Schmitt. He's a good guy. 

Yesterday at Tapteal, Riley, my behavioral issue kid drew himself a black mustache with Crayon. I tried to tell him he needed to finish his essay, but I couldn't keep a straight face. haha! He just looked at me like a dear in the headlights with this little mustache above his lip.

I think my mom and I need to compile a book of all the cute things little kids say. It would be the greatest! 

I don't want to do my homework, I want to be in France NOW! (:

Well, Amber got me. Blogging about Australia made me super excited to create a blog for when I go to France. But I probably won't use it much other than that.
except to say that I was driving in West Richland today and I drove past a big red Santa on a big red Harley. We waved to each other. good moment.
